Welcome to the “Food 4 Everyone” website.

“Food 4 Everyone” is a food distribution program which was launched in the “Windy Village” (Kampong Cham, Cambodia) on the 6th April 2006.

This program is the “benevolent-arm” of the Heartland Project (Heartland is administered by the Global Development Group) and it is part of the 2005 global call to reduce world poverty by 2015.

The Heartland project runs a variety of educational and health programs in the “Windy Village” (some ten kilometers away from Kampong Cham) as part of its community development work. It runs meetings 3 times per week for the local population, and is presently fundraising for a major vocational training centre which will involve volunteer Australian trades people who will also share their skills with local unemployed youth. Heartland staff also do crisis intervention work and assist with emergencies.

“Food 4 Everyone” utilizes the existing infrastructure of Heartland to provide a number of food distribution and related programs in poverty stricken areas. In the “Windy Village”, “Food 4 Everyone”  provides nutritious meals to approximately 300 children, 65 elderly locals as well as a growing number of young mothers and babies who attend Heartland's meetings and who are more often than not hungry.

“Food 4 Everyone” also runs food distribution programs in the AIDS ward of the Kampong Cham Hospital and in a slum area on the banks of the Meekong River. “Food 4 Everyone” has also funded a thriving garden at the Kampong Cham Medium Security Jail to assist prisoners with their diet and assist with the construction of wells in isolated rural areas all over Cambodia.

“Food 4 Everyone” also funds sponsorships for three young Cambodians to attend Agricultural College for the 2006-2008 academic years and part of the agreement is for the students take care for and live in the “Food 4 Everyone” farmlet. The students provide their knowledge and expertise to the local community. The goal of the farmlet is to contribute to the many “Food 4 Everyone” feeding programs.
